punk rock flea market
@ ABSINTHE HAMILTON
ONCE UPON A TIME... Hamilton only had boring, run of the mill, craft markets only lil ol church ladies would wanna go to. One day in the spring of 2014, intrepid local man-about-town and punk rock event organizer Benjamin Rispin of Misfit Island, decided that the city needed a new spot in which cool vendors from all over the city could hawk their wares, so he teamed up with the amazing owner of the local pop/punk shop Compilation, Jacquie Malley, and the hottest independent live music venue in the neighbourhood, Club Absinthe, to create one of the most kick-ass markets in Southern Ontario. The team then eventually expanded to include Julie Fazooli [Abominable Ink by Fazooli], Talli Osbourne [She’s Nubs], and most recently, Lee McPherson [Beast and Bones], in order to keep up with the continuing success and increasing magnitude - and now runs quarterly every year.
Following in the tradition of the Great North American Punk Rock Flea, the market embodies the true DIY punk ethos, as well as offering up great vintage finds, clothing, records, collectibles, and so much more. Since then, the market has grown exponentially, with many different types of vendors added, artists, musicians, games and activities for the kids, great food by local chefs, fundraising auctions for local charities, psychic readings, haircuts, prizes to be won, goodie bags for the first people through the door - the list goes on. We like to keep people on their toes with fresh, new ideas! We strive to keep each show more enticing than the last, with fun themed events (like beach parties, circus extravaganzas, Hot Rod BBQs), and a rotating selection of hand-picked vendors from all over Southern Ontario, so you’ll rarely experience the same thing twice!
Bring grandma - bring the kids - bring the pooch - EVERYONE IS ALWAYS WELCOME AT THE PUNK ROCK FLEA! HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!

supercrawl artists' night market
@ ABSINTHE HAMILTON
Every second weekend of September, Absinthe Hamilton is home to the Supercrawl Artists Night Market - a curated collection of over 30 creative and artistic vendors from all over Southern Ontario, with a strong local presence due to the amazing art scene Hamilton continues to encourage. Local favourites Born in the Eighties and Take Cover always rocks till the wee hours, and DJ Party Jesus always keep the party going. The emphasis on this particular indoor market space is to give artists an inexpensive way to showcase their art to a highly diverse and receptive crowd, right next to the main concert stage on the main strip, without being amidst the hustle and bustle of the festival. All proceeds from vendor fees contribute to the effort of creating the event itself - and for the sake of the financially-struggling art community that deserves the exposure at an event of this magnitude, without having to spend half their rent for an outdoor booth.
APPLICATIONS FOR 2018 ARE NOW LIVE! Apply via this link: https://bit.ly/2JN0G7G

As a Producer and Production Coordinator for Production Company Misfit Island, I helped create a TV Pilot with my pals about a rag-tag bunch of dudes who play Beer League Hockey in order to spend less time at home with their wives and kids, in a mockumentary style very similar to that of Trailer Park Boys. It all starts with the theft of the infamous and much-coveted Beer League Trophy... as you'd expect, hilarity ensues...
